SLITSCOPE is a media art group formed in 2018 by media artist and director, Kim JaeMin and artificial intelligence researcher, Kim KeunHyoung. The name of the group, SLITSCOPE was inspired by the double-slit experiment that proved the wave-particle duality, a basic concept in quantum mechanics, and suggests a look at the duality that escapes human recognition. Since 2018, SLITSCOPE has developed various forms of artificial intelligence such as I Question, which exchanges questions and artistic assessments of photographs, the AI choreographer MADI, the space-creating AI Ludenstopia, and the poem-writing AI SIA. They have been exploring aesthetic experiences that emerge from the convergence boundary between different mediums and between human and AI artists. The group has held a solo exhibition, 《(dis)appearance》(Post Territory Ujeongguk, Seoul, 2020), and participated in numerous group exhibitions including 《Storytelling for Earthly Survival : Posthuman 2022》(Asia Culture Center, Gwangju, 2022), 《The Unrestricted Society》(C-LAB, Taiwan, 2022), 《Re-Fest》(LA Culture Hub, LA, 2020), 《PAPHOS》(Arts Council Korea, Seoul, 2022), 《PAPHOS 2.0》(Arts Council Korea, Seoul, 2023), 《Beyond Black》(Korea National Contemporary Dance Company, Seoul, 2020), and many other performances.
